Kraftcentrale (power plant)
Gaswerk Schlieren

« »

It was not far from home. I had two canvasses on my pack frame. I put the painting utilities into the trunk of my bycicle – by the way it works like a safety lock! The thing is built for scooters and it can not be overseen when passing by.

Several times these vats placed themself onto an oil painting of mine. Always on the background, though. However, one day they wanted to be studied and portrayed from near in good light. Cycling on my way round the no longer closed industrial zone I catch a peculiar peaceful silence. Under the huge ellipses in the sky I feel like a small wheel.

What is going to happen here? Small containers and machines are ready. All except the oldest of the telescopic low pressure gas vats will be destroyed. They contain up to 100'000 cubic meters. My picture is "historic" even before the first brush stroke! This aspect is inevitable with my way of painting: What ist painted today will look different tomorrow. So inevitably, irretrievably, unequal.  | – »
